The Washington Commanders are making a significant change to their receiving corps by trading wide receiver Jahan Dotson to the Philadelphia Eagles, as reported by NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
The deal sends Dotson and a fifth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to the Eagles in exchange for a third-round pick and two seventh-round picks from the same draft.

Dotson, selected 16th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, has faced challenges in meeting expectations during his first two seasons with the Commanders, recording 84 receptions for 1,041 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Reporter Ari Meirov highlighted signs of discontent between Dotson and the Commanders, which contributed to the decision to trade him within the division.
In Dotson’s absence, rookie Luke McCaffrey and fourth-year pro Dyami Brown are expected to take on larger roles in Washington’s offense.
Dotson returns to Pennsylvania, where he previously played college football at Penn State, and will face his former team on Thursday Night Football on November 14.
