Karachi is experiencing a significant temperature drop as cold winds from Balochistan sweep through the city. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted that the cold spell will continue for several days, with temperatures potentially dipping into single digits.
On Thursday morning, Karachi’s minimum temperature was recorded at 10.9°C, a 3.6°C drop from the previous day. The city is currently under the influence of a western weather system, which is bringing frigid winds from the northeast, significantly lowering the temperature.

Earlier in the week, Karachi residents were informed of the impending drop in temperature, following a brief period of milder weather. Meteorologists are predicting that the minimum temperature could fall further, potentially reaching 9°C as the cold winds intensify over the next few days.
While the city briefly saw a rise in temperature with a recorded minimum of 13.5°C, the calm is expected to be short-lived. The new weather system entering from the west will cause a return of cold winds from Balochistan, bringing with it a fresh drop in temperatures. Karachi residents are advised to prepare for continued chilly conditions.
