COAS strongly condemns the efforts of division between Pakistan Army and Nation

ISLAMABAD: On the eve of Independence Day, General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), strongly condemned any efforts to divide the Pakistan Army and the nation. He reaffirmed that the country’s military forces and citizenry remain steadfastly unified.

“As a national army, the Pakistan Army is proud of its unwavering commitment to the people of Pakistan.” Attempts to force a schism between the army and the nation are heinous and will fail,” General Munir remarked on Sunday, speaking during the Azadi Parade at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA).

He stated that the army has the will, capacity, and capability to face any challenge, external or internal, and that it would contribute to both national security and national development.

“I implore you to reject despondency, the propaganda of cynics and fear mongers who are waging a failed campaign to sow despair and hopelessness.” “This great country and the nation have faced many such challenges both during its creation and since,” he remarked.

The army general, who mentioned many Quranic verses during his speech, stated that the country is living in “interesting times, a watershed era, fraught with challenges, geopolitical wrangling, increasing power contestation, hegemonism and jingoism.”

“We continue to resist the evil designs of inimical forces; forces of instability and chaos eager in their failed attempts to destabilize Pakistan.”

“In the words of our great Quaid, ‘There is no power on earth that can undo Pakistan’ – Inshallah.” We have fought for a long time with our external and internal adversaries, and we will continue to fight for as long as necessary in the future.”

Addressing the people of Kashmir, he stated that they will be liberated from the clutches of ruthless occupation forces, just as Pakistan was liberated 76 years ago.

“No evil design can withstand the determination of the Kashmiri people, despite communication blackouts, blatant use of bayonets, and turning Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir into the largest prison in the world.”

He stated that it is up to the world community’s conscience to recognize that Indian excesses in Kashmir have gone unpunished, and the right to freedom and self-determination is being denied on the altar of geopolitical necessity.

According to the COAS, India has never been able to reconcile itself with the concept of Pakistan and is a threat to regional peace and security.

“I must say that we won our freedom through a long struggle, and we know how to defend it.” The strategic calculus of our archrival, warped by its outsized ambition, delusory of being a big power, and misled by Hindutva-driven hyper nationalism, requires the world’s serious attention.

“We will never be coerced by aggressive designs, and the region cannot afford such hostility between two nuclear powers.”

“Unfortunately, the adversary continues to peddle its nefarious designs against us for petty political mileage; I would humbly remind them of their predicament, the last time they tried to do so,” he said.

He stated that Pakistanis have been the most welcoming people and wanted that the Afghan government would return their efforts by not allowing its soil to be used against Pakistan.

He informed the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, who have been fighting terrorism and its proxies for over two decades, that they will win this war. “We want you to live in peace and progress in accordance with the people’s aspirations,” he stated.

He stated that for 76 years, the nation has celebrated freedom, equality, and the pursuit of happiness, which it must continue to preserve.

“We are here to instill a patriotic spirit of service to our homeland, a land of limitless opportunities and immeasurable bounty.”

“Our great country and the nation will continue to rise, Inshallah, in line with the aspirations of our forefathers, the people of Pakistan, and for a bright future of the coming generations,” he continued.
