COAS Leads Operation Against Indian Proxies, Terrorists in Balochistan

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir has reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to eliminate terrorism and counter foreign interference, stating that operations are underway against India-backed proxies and militant groups in Balochistan.

During a high-level security briefing on Tuesday, the Army Chief said that the organizations known as Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij were actively spreading anti-state narratives and promoting violence in the province. These groups, he noted, are funded and supported by external forces seeking to destabilize Pakistan’s peace and development efforts.

The COAS emphasized that such elements are not only working against the security of Balochistan but are also obstructing progress and prosperity for its people. He reiterated that the state remains determined to root out terrorism and restore complete stability across the region.

“Our struggle is not only against terrorists but also against their sponsors and enablers,” Asim Munir said, underlining the importance of national unity and vigilance. He praised the efforts of security forces and local communities who continue to support counterterrorism operations despite challenges.

Officials present at the briefing highlighted that intelligence-based operations are being conducted to dismantle terrorist networks and curb cross-border infiltration. The ongoing efforts, they said, aim to ensure that peace dividends reach every citizen of Balochistan.

The Army Chief also reaffirmed the state’s commitment to inclusive development and social welfare in the province. He stressed that peace and progress go hand in hand and that long-term stability can only be achieved when people’s socio-economic needs are addressed alongside security measures.

The government has also shown a renewed focus on enforcing a strong state policy to counter extremist organizations, echoing recent statements by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif. The minister earlier hinted at possible strict actions, including bans on groups found promoting instability or violence, aligning with the security strategy led by the military leadership.

Field Marshal Asim Munir concluded by reiterating that Pakistan’s armed forces will continue to safeguard the nation against both internal and external threats. He called for national solidarity to defeat propaganda campaigns and ensure that development in Balochistan remains uninterrupted.
