During a meeting with participants of the National Security Workshop at GHQ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Asim Munir affirmed the unwavering commitment to the safety and security of every Pakistani, stressing that this commitment cannot be compromised at any cost. The participants of the workshop were briefed on regional and internal security dynamics and the national security environment.
COAS emphasized that the Armed Forces of Pakistan and its security and intelligence establishments have effectively battled terrorism, despite various forms of support from hostile forces. He expressed confidence that, with the continued support of the people of Pakistan, success will be achieved.

He also highlighted the responsibility of the intelligentsia and civil society in ensuring that the people, especially the youth, remain vigilant and resilient against the propaganda launched through soft offensives against Pakistan’s state institutions.
The workshop participants were informed about measures taken to address illegal activities, including smuggling, power theft, narcotics prevalence, border control, and the repatriation of illegal foreigners from Pakistan. Gen Asim Munir also pointed out the positive economic outcomes resulting from proactive measures, particularly the Special Economic Zones (SEZs).
COAS concluded by emphasizing that the Army is actively involved in facilitating national and provincial responses in various domains, working in collaboration with other state institutions for the collective benefit of the Pakistani people. He reiterated the nation’s resilience in the face of challenges on the path to achieving peace and stability.
The National Security Workshop is an annual event held at the National Defence University, with participants from various segments of society. The 25th National Security Workshop includes 98 participants, such as parliamentarians, senior civil and military officers, and representatives from civil society.
