Chicken prices have sharply risen across Punjab, including Rawalpindi and Islamabad, according to a private news channel.

The cost of broiler chicken has skyrocketed to Rs. 780 per kilogram, up from Rs. 450. Authorities seem unable to control the escalating prices, putting pressure on consumers.

Reports show that a 40 kg supply of broiler chicken, previously priced at Rs. 13,000, has now risen to Rs. 17,000, coinciding with the drop in temperatures.

In Mansehra and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, poultry prices have also reached record highs. On Wednesday, live broiler chicken was priced at Rs. 435 per kilogram, set by the Mansehra Poultry Shops Association.

Sources confirm that this surge marks a significant increase in recent months. Live chicken, which had been priced at around Rs. 300 per kilogram, climbed to Rs. 400 recently and now stands at Rs. 435 in Mansehra and nearby areas.
