Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar revealed that 642 million voters, including 312 million women, participated in India’s Lok Sabha elections for the year 2024. He emphasized the significant involvement of over 68,000 monitoring teams and 15 million polling and security personnel, making it the world’s largest electoral process.
Kumar expressed gratitude towards the voters, highlighting their choice of action over apathy, belief over cynicism, and the ballot over the bullet. He also addressed complaints, stating that over 90% of the 495 Model Code of Conduct violations were addressed during the general elections.

Regarding the election results, Kumar assured the robustness of the entire counting process, scheduled for June 4. He emphasized the transparency and scrutiny allowed in the Indian electoral system, addressing issues raised by multi-party delegations.
Kumar further highlighted the voter turnout, describing it as a historic achievement, surpassing previous records and showcasing the immense power of Indian voters. He underscored the pride in the significant participation of women voters, which exceeded the numbers from previous elections and even surpassed the combined voters of several major global nations.
