Preliminary discussions are ongoing to expedite the commencement of the project. The endeavor encompasses a spectrum of initiatives, including the modernization of existing infrastructure, the rehabilitation and expansion of current systems, the construction and upgrading of water treatment facilities to bolster sewage treatment capacity, and the augmentation of drainage networks.

Technical expertise and assistance for this endeavor will be provided by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), a French agency specializing in aiding nations in achieving the United Nations’ sustainable development objectives.
Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Chairman of CDA, affirmed the significance of the WASA Islamabad project in demonstrating the authority’s dedication to furnishing citizens with top-tier amenities. He emphasized that this initiative is poised to tackle prevailing challenges and chart a course towards a more resilient and sustainable future for the capital.
