Procurement of Tree Transplanters
In another key development, the board approved the purchase of two tree transplanters to relocate trees affected by development projects. Chairman Randhawa instructed officials to expedite the procurement process. The CDA had previously relied on renting transplanters from other departments, but with the new equipment, the authority aims to quickly relocate trees to alternative sites, promoting environmental sustainability.
Construction of Parking Plazas
The board also approved the construction of a parking plaza adjacent to the Centaurus Hotel. The facility will include commercial shops, catering to both parking and retail needs. Additionally, Chairman Randhawa directed the planning of another parking plaza in Sector I-8 to address the growing parking demands in the area, further enhancing convenience for residents and visitors.
The CDA Board’s decisions reflect its commitment to enhancing urban infrastructure, fostering investment, and promoting environmental sustainability in Islamabad.
