CDA Introduces Cashless One Window System For Digital Islamabad

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has introduced a cashless payment system at its One Window Facilitation Center, marking a major milestone in its mission to make Islamabad Pakistan’s first fully digital city.

The initiative, launched under the guidance of CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, aims to digitize all financial transactions, promote transparency, and improve efficiency in public service delivery.

During the inauguration ceremony, the CDA Chairman personally conducted a digital transaction to demonstrate the new system’s convenience. Senior CDA officials, including Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, and the Director of One Window, were present at the event alongside representatives from Bank Alfalah, Finnect, and other financial institutions.

Officials explained that the new system enables citizens to make payments through QR code-based platforms like EasyPaisa and JazzCash. This allows instant, secure, and cashless transactions for a range of civic services, reducing reliance on manual payment systems.

Chairman Randhawa highlighted that the project supports the government’s vision of digital transformation and e-governance. He added that the CDA has already implemented QR code-based systems in Islamabad’s weekly bazaars and plans to expand them to commercial markets and retail areas soon.

The chairman also announced the upcoming launch of “Assan Khidmat Markaz”, a centralized digital service center being developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Information Technology. This one-stop facility will allow citizens to access all civic services under one roof in a modern, technology-driven environment.

Randhawa reaffirmed that the CDA’s ultimate goal is to turn Islamabad into a fully smart and digital city, where all transactions—from bill payments to registrations—are completed electronically. The move aims to enhance public convenience, curb corruption, and ensure transparency in civic operations.
