The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has officially increased the fares of electric buses in Islamabad, raising the cost from Rs50 to Rs100 as of Sunday. This change affects the Orange, Green, and Blue lines as well as other electric buses operating in the federal capital.
Authorities cited administrative and financial reasons behind the fare hike, noting that about 90,000 passengers use these services daily. However, the CDA is working on a new policy to offer fare concessions for different groups, including office workers, students, and senior citizens.

The upcoming concessional packages will be available for daily, weekly, fortnightly, and monthly travelers, especially those using bus cards. Officials have assured that these discounts will help ease the financial impact on regular commuters, with details to be announced soon.
Additionally, CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa has instructed that comprehensive electric bus schedules, including arrival and departure times, be made accessible on Google Maps. This digital move aims to improve convenience for residents planning their trips within the capital.
