A Special Central Judge in Islamabad has ordered the release of Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, in the Tosha Khana 2 case. This decision came after a bail application was submitted in front of Judge Shahrukh Arjumand.
The Tosha Khana case involves allegations regarding the misappropriation of gifts received during Imran Khan’s tenure as Prime Minister. The Islamabad High Court granted bail to Bushra Bibi, citing a precedent set in the Justice Qazi Faiz Isa case, where accountability was drawn between spouses.

During the proceedings, Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb noted the parallels between the two cases, questioning the rationale for implicating the PTI founder if Bushra Bibi did not submit the gifts in question. He highlighted how, in the Isa case, a husband was held accountable for his wife’s actions.
The court approved Bushra Bibi’s bail application, requiring the deposit of a surety of one million rupees for her release. FIA prosecutor Umeer Majeed argued that gifts received by state officials must be declared, emphasizing that such gifts remain state property unless legally purchased. Justice Aurangzeb referenced international practices, stating that gifts received by world leaders are often retained according to established rules, and underscored the need for accurate valuation of such gifts through proper auctions. This court ruling provides temporary relief for Bushra Bibi amid ongoing legal challenges.
