Despite the party’s significant influence in Karachi, the PPP leadership decided against participating in the elections from the city.
PPP leader Murtaza Wahab stated, “Bilawal Bhutto is free to choose any constituency for contesting the elections.”

In 2018, Bhutto-Zardari initiated his electoral journey in Lyari, a stronghold of the Bhutto family.
The National Assembly seat from Lyari has historical significance, as in 1988, former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto contested and won elections from this constituency.
Former President Asif Ali Zardari also contested elections from Lyari. Additionally, the legacy extends to former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who participated in elections from Lyari.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
