This development was revealed on Thursday, bringing relief to citizens who had faced distress when the flagship health program was put on hold in May 2023.
The Sehat Card program, initiated by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, provides residents with the opportunity to receive treatment at various private hospitals free of cost. The suspension of the program due to insufficient funds had caused concern among citizens.

The decision to restore the Sehat Card facility coincided with the election of PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur as the chief minister of KP, who secured victory as an independent candidate. Notably, all PTI-backed candidates participated in the 2024 elections as independents after the withdrawal of their party symbol following allegations of false intra-party polls.
Residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa can anticipate the reinstatement of the Sehat Card service starting from the first day of Ramadan 2024, expected to commence on March 12. This announcement brings renewed hope and access to healthcare for the province’s permanent residents, showcasing the government’s commitment to prioritizing public health and welfare through the revitalization of essential programs.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
