Big Blow For Pakistan In Asia Cup, As 2 Key Pacers Injured

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Prominent fast bowlers, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah, may be sidelined for the ongoing Asia Cup due to injuries sustained during their Super 4s clash with India in Colombo.

As per media reports, these pace bowlers are likely to be rested for the upcoming crucial match against Sri Lanka, set for September 14. The availability of these premier fast bowlers for the final match, scheduled for September 17 if Pakistan qualifies, remains uncertain.

During the rain-affected Pakistan-India encounter, Haris Rauf, hailing from Rawalpindi, experienced discomfort in his right side, limiting his participation on the reserve day of the match. Similarly, Naseem Shah had to leave the field during the last over of his spell against India due to a shoulder injury, which sent shockwaves among cricket enthusiasts.

Their absence was conspicuous during the batting innings, as they didn’t come out to bat, ultimately leading to a 228-run defeat.

The injuries to these two fast bowlers just before the crucial stages of the Asia Cup and the impending World Cup 2023, scheduled to commence on October 5, pose a significant setback for the Babar Azam-led team.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
