BCCI Files Official Complaint With ICC Against Farhan And Rauf (1)

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has lodged an official complaint with the ICC against Pakistan cricketers Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan. The complaint is linked to their on-field gestures during the Asia Cup Super Fours game in Dubai last Sunday.

According to reports, the BCCI submitted the complaint through email on Wednesday, and the ICC has confirmed receipt. The governing body will now review the matter under its code of conduct. If Rauf and Farhan deny the charges in writing, a formal hearing could take place. Match referee Richie Richardson may oversee the process if it moves forward.

The incidents under review include Farhan’s celebration after scoring his half-century and Rauf gesturing toward fans while fielding at the boundary. Both moments went viral on social media and sparked widespread debate.

India’s assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate commented on the issue, saying the pressure on players during high-profile matches was enormous. He admitted seeing Rauf’s gestures but stressed that the Indian team remained focused on discipline. “We are proud of how our players carried themselves,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also filed a separate complaint with the ICC against Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav. The PCB claims Yadav’s post-match comments after India’s earlier win over Pakistan were political in nature. Yadav had dedicated the victory to victims of the Pahalgam terror attack, a move that sparked controversy.

The complaints from both boards highlight the growing intensity of the Asia Cup, where rivalries are under constant scrutiny. The ICC will review the cases and decide on disciplinary action if required. The BCCI has emphasized its commitment to maintaining fair play and ensuring that on-field behavior reflects the spirit of the game.
