In the wake of the tragic Pahalgam attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which claimed at least 26 tourist lives, strong condemnation has emerged nationwide — including from India’s cricketing circles.
BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla reaffirmed that India will not resume bilateral cricket with Pakistan. “We condemn the attack and stand with the victims. As per government policy, there will be no bilateral cricket with Pakistan — only ICC fixtures due to international obligations,” he told media.

Cricketing ties between India and Pakistan have been limited to ICC and ACC tournaments since 2012-13, with the latest clash set for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai.
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia also issued a statement denouncing the attack, expressing deep sorrow and extending sympathies to the victims’ families, calling it a “cowardly act” that has deeply shocked the cricket community.
