Armed bandits fired rockets at a small village in Khairpur late Wednesday night, killing one person and injuring several others.
According to police, the attack took place in Jummo Phulpoto village, where dacoits targeted homes and fields using rocket launchers. One villager died on the spot, while others sustained injuries during the explosion.
Police officials said a heavy exchange of fire took place when security forces arrived at the scene. The attackers managed to flee under the cover of darkness, and a search operation has been launched to trace them.
The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Khairpur, where one of them is said to be in critical condition. Authorities have increased patrols in nearby areas to prevent further violence.
Locals condemned the incident and urged the Sindh government to take strict action against bandits who have terrorized rural communities for years. Police have vowed to continue operations until the culprits are caught.
