Pakistan’s security forces carried out major counter-terrorism actions under ongoing Balochistan operations on January 29. The Inter-Services Public Relations confirmed the killing of 41 terrorists in separate operations.
According to ISPR, the actions were intelligence-based and targeted terrorist hideouts in Harnai and Panjgur districts. The hideouts were successfully destroyed during the operations.
ISPR stated that 30 terrorists were killed in Harnai, while 11 were eliminated in Panjgur. Security forces acted on credible intelligence to prevent future attacks in the region.
The Balochistan operations also led to the recovery of a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives. Security personnel seized these items from terrorists backed by foreign elements.
Officials also recovered cash looted from a bank in Panjgur during the operation. ISPR said the recovery disrupted terrorist financing networks in the area.
President Asif Ali Zardari praised the efforts of the security forces. He said the successful Balochistan operations reflected the state’s resolve against terrorism.
“The effective action against terrorists shows the government’s strong commitment to national security,” the president said in his statement.
He added that counter-terrorism efforts would continue until lasting peace and stability return to all parts of Pakistan.
ISPR emphasized that the operations were part of a broader strategy to eliminate terrorism from Balochistan. The military remains committed to protecting civilians and key infrastructure.
