The decision was made by Judge Abul Hasanat Zulqarnain of the Official Secrets Act court, who had reserved the verdict.
The court’s decision to reject Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s bail plea was primarily due to his absence during the proceedings. Additionally, the court dismissed both petitions submitted by Qureshi’s lawyer, Ali Bukhari. Bukhari had filed applications on behalf of Qureshi, one seeking exemption from attending court proceedings and the other requesting Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s summons for the case.
