Azam Swati, a prominent leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has made the decision to abstain from participating in the upcoming general elections in 2024.
The Peshawar High Court (PHC) recently presided over Azam Swati’s case, wherein his legal representative informed the bench about his client’s choice to withdraw from the electoral race in 2024.

This development arose from a previous complaint filed by Azam Swati with the PHC, challenging the rejection of his nomination papers by the Election Tribunal and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for NA-15 (Mansehra).
During the hearing on Wednesday, Azam Swati’s attorney conveyed to the PHC that his client had returned the party ticket and officially decided not to run for office in the upcoming 2024 elections.
Justice Aijaz Anwar, acknowledging the decision, remarked, “He should withdraw the plea as well if he is not contesting the election.”
Subsequently, following Azam Swati’s withdrawal from the electoral race, the PHC resolved the matter, bringing the legal proceedings related to his nomination papers to a conclusion.
This decision by Azam Swati to forego participation in the 2024 elections marks a significant development in his political trajectory. The withdrawal from the electoral race and the subsequent withdrawal of his legal challenge demonstrate a definitive stance, signaling the end of his pursuit for candidacy in the specified constituency.
