The suspension of IPL 2025 amid escalating Pakistan-India tensions has left Australian players unsettled and doubtful about returning to India to finish the tournament.

According to The Age, all Australian cricketers have returned home safely, but many remain uneasy about going back due to security concerns. Cricket Australia (CA) has assured support, stating that players’ decisions will be respected without affecting their IPL prospects in future editions.

The IPL was halted after the Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match in Dharamsala was abandoned mid-game following fears of a potential Pakistani retaliation. In response, the BCCI is considering relocating the remaining fixtures to southern cities like Chennai, Bengaluru, or Hyderabad.

Top Australian players, including Pat Cummins, Travis Head, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood, are particularly affected due to upcoming international commitments, such as the WTC final and other tours.

While the BCCI monitors the situation and consults with authorities, the uncertainty and disruption have cast doubt on the likelihood of many foreign players returning soon.
