[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Asif Zardari, co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), held a lengthy discussion on potential solutions to avoid a defeat in the lower house of parliament in the event that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called for a vote of confidence on Sunday.

On Sunday evening, Shujaat visited Zardari at Bilawal House.

Imran Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI), announced that he will ask Prime Minister Shehbaz for a vote of confidence, causing the leadership of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) to begin planning to avoid another setback after the Punjab Assembly loss.

Senior PML-Q and PPP leaders met for an hour to discuss current political conditions and potential strategies to avoid defeat in the lower house in the event of a no-trust vote. Both leaders also spoke about the quickly shifting political landscape and the subject of the general election.

Both leaders emphasised that the nation was at a turning point due to economic difficulties, for which everyone would have to play their part in order to get the economy back on track.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
