Aqib Javed has officially parted ways with Lahore Qalandars after an impressive eight-year tenure with the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise.
The former Pakistan international leaves the team as he prepares to assume national duties with the Pakistan cricket team. During his time as Director of Cricket Operations and Head Coach, Aqib played a pivotal role in leading Lahore Qalandars to three consecutive PSL finals from 2020 to 2023. Under his guidance, the team clinched the PSL title twice in a row, establishing themselves as champions.

One of Aqib’s significant contributions to Lahore Qalandars was the implementation of the Player Development Program (PDP), which successfully nurtured talents such as Haris Rauf, Zaman Khan, Salman Irshad, Dilbar Hussain, Maaz Khan, and Mirza Tahir Baig.
Reflecting on his journey with the franchise, Aqib Javed expressed, “It’s been an unforgettable journey filled with memorable moments. Now, I’m excited to take on new challenges with the national team.”
