Apple Set To Expand Vision Pro Line With New Models

Apple is reportedly working on two new versions of its Vision Pro headset as it looks to address criticisms of its first-generation device and broaden the appeal of its spatial computing platform. The new models aim to tackle issues like weight and pricing while introducing professional use-case features.

According to tech journalist Mark Gurman, one of the upcoming headsets will be a lighter and more affordable alternative to the current $3,299 Vision Pro, which drew criticism for being both expensive and heavy. This move signals Apple’s intent to make the device more accessible to general consumers.

The second version will cater to professional users, designed as a wired headset for Mac computers. Unlike the standalone Vision Pro, this model is expected to focus on ultra-low latency performance, ideal for high-precision tasks such as surgical imaging and flight simulation.

Apple has reportedly invested billions into the Vision Pro platform despite a lukewarm initial market response. Some early users returned their headsets, citing comfort and usability concerns. Still, the company seems committed to refining and expanding its spatial computing strategy rather than scaling back.
