Apple Launches iPhone 17e With MagSafe and A19 Chip

Apple has officially kicked off its latest product launch cycle by unveiling the iPhone 17e, a more affordable addition to its smartphone lineup aimed at users seeking flagship reliability at a lower price point. The new model follows the design philosophy of last year’s 16e, focusing on incremental improvements rather than major hardware changes.

The iPhone 17e features a 6.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2532 × 1170 pixels and retains a 60Hz refresh rate. Apple has continued using the familiar notch design that houses Face ID sensors and the front camera. A notable enhancement includes the updated Ceramic Shield 2 protection, improving durability against drops and scratches.

In terms of design, the device maintains a minimalist appearance while introducing a new Soft Pink color option alongside classic Black and White finishes. The smartphone carries an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, ensuring durability in everyday conditions. The addition of MagSafe support stands out as the only major hardware upgrade compared to its predecessor.

Powering the device is Apple’s new A19 chipset paired with a 4-core GPU, designed to deliver improved efficiency and smoother performance for daily tasks and gaming. The iPhone 17e runs on iOS 26 and integrates Apple Intelligence features, signaling the company’s continued push toward AI-driven user experiences and smarter device interactions.

Photography remains simple yet capable, with a single 48MP rear camera featuring optical image stabilization and enhanced image processing for improved portrait photography. The camera supports 4K video recording at 60 frames per second with Dolby Vision. On the front, a 12MP camera handles selfies and video calls with upgraded autofocus performance.

Battery performance includes support for faster wired charging and 15W wireless charging through MagSafe compatibility. Apple has priced the iPhone 17e starting at $599 for the 256GB model, while the 512GB variant costs $799. The pricing positions the phone as a mid-range alternative within Apple’s ecosystem while maintaining premium core features.
