Apple iPhone 17 Lineup To Feature Major Camera Upgrades And New Design

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 series is set to deliver significant camera advancements across all models, according to recent leaks and prototype models. Scheduled for a fall 2025 release, the lineup promises enhanced photo and video capabilities alongside refreshed design elements.

Every iPhone 17 model will reportedly get an upgraded 24-megapixel front-facing camera, doubling the resolution from current models. This improvement should deliver sharper selfies and better low-light performance, while offering more flexibility for cropping images without losing quality.

The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models will undergo the most dramatic changes. Both are expected to feature a triple 48-megapixel camera setup—including a new Tetraprism telephoto lens—paired with a redesigned horizontal camera bar spanning the back of the device. Apple is also rumoured to introduce 8K video recording, dual video capture, and possibly a mechanical variable aperture system for the first time.

A new iPhone 17 Air model, reportedly ultra-thin at 5.5mm, will house a single 48-megapixel camera due to space constraints. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 17 will retain a familiar design with two rear lenses, focusing mainly on front camera upgrades.
