Filmmaker Amar Kaushik, co-creator of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, has revealed why Aneet Padda was chosen as the lead in the upcoming film ‘Shakti Shalini’.
Fans were excited earlier this week when the teaser for Shakti Shalini released in theatres alongside the new film Thamma. The teaser confirmed that Aneet Padda would replace Kiara Advani as the lead actress. A key line in the clip read: “The protector. The destroyer. The mother of all. Aneet Padda in Shakti Shalini.”
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Amar Kaushik explained the casting decision. “While writing the script, we realized we needed a younger actor. After watching her film Saiyaara, we felt Aneet Padda suited the character perfectly. She listened to the story and agreed to join the project,” he said.
Amar Kaushik, who directed Stree and Stree 2 (2024), also shared that shooting for Shakti Shalini is scheduled to begin in January 2026.
