Pakistan Sets Final Deadline for Afghan Citizen Card Holders to Leave
ISLAMABAD: Afghan Citizen Card holders have been advised to leave Pakistan by the end of this month, as part of the Illegal Foreigners Repatriation Program, which has been in effect since November 1, 2023.
Government’s Final Decision on Repatriation
In continuation of its decision to repatriate all illegal foreigners, the national leadership has now extended the policy to include Afghan Citizen Card holders.

- All illegal foreigners and Afghan Citizen Card holders must voluntarily leave Pakistan by the 31st of this month.
- Deportation will commence from the 1st of next month.
Ensuring a Dignified Return
Authorities have assured that:
- Sufficient time has already been granted for a dignified return.
- No individual will be maltreated during the repatriation process.
- Arrangements for food and healthcare have been put in place for returning foreigners.
Pakistan’s Stance on Hosting Foreigners
Pakistan has been a gracious host and continues to fulfill its commitments and obligations as a responsible state. However, it has reiterated that:
- Individuals wishing to stay in Pakistan must fulfill all legal formalities.
- All foreigners must abide by Pakistan’s constitution and immigration laws.
