Abdul Qadir Gilani, Member of the National Assembly and son of Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani, was reportedly robbed of a luxury wristwatch during a visit to Barcelona, Spain.
According to reports, an unidentified thief snatched the expensive watch while Gilani was on a leisure trip to the city. The stolen timepiece is estimated to be worth around €56,000, roughly Rs18.5 million.
Gilani, who is in Barcelona for tourism, has not yet commented publicly on the incident. Local police have been notified, and an investigation is underway. The case has sparked renewed concerns about street crime targeting tourists in popular European destinations, even those with a public profile.
Abdul Qadir Gilani has been serving as an MNA since February 2024. Previously, he was a member of the Punjab Provincial Assembly from June 2008 to July 2012. Representing the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), he hails from Multan, considered a political stronghold of the Gilani family.
