A flood warning has been issued for Marala on the Chenab River

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a flood warning for the Marala area along the Chenab River, anticipating medium to high-level flooding from July 4th to July 7th. The water level at Marala has been steadily rising, prompting alerts to districts adjacent to the Chenab River, including Sialkot, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, and Hafizabad.

Deputy commissioners of Chiniot, Jhang, Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, Multan, and Rajanpur have been directed to take necessary precautions to prevent any untoward incidents. PDMA Punjab Director General Irfan Ali Kathia stressed the importance of maintaining vigilance in emergency control rooms and ensuring readiness of disaster response teams, particularly Rescue 1122. Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay updated on the situation and adhere to instructions from local authorities for their safety during this period of heightened flood risk.
