A couple was axed to death over a love marriage in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD – A couple from Hangu was murdered in the federal capital on Wednesday due to their love marriage. The incident took place in Pind Parian village, within the Tarnol police station limits. The victims, identified as Mardana Bibi and Shoaib, had married by choice, angering their families. Despite seeking refuge in a home in Islamabad, the suspects tracked them down.

The couple was killed with a sharp-edged weapon, and the perpetrators fled the scene. The bodies have been moved to a hospital for further procedures. SSP Operations Arslan Shah stated that the suspects will be arrested soon. In a similar incident in June, two sisters were killed by their father, brother, and relatives for love marriage. Local media reported that a man, Siad Hussain Dhadhi, his son, and three relatives were involved in the killing of the sisters, who had married by choice and were brought back home through a panchayat.
