Customs Seizes Smuggled Goods Worth Rs. 121.6 Million in Rakhni

The Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Quetta, with support from FC North and Loralai Police, seized 9 NCP vehicles along with smuggled goods valued at Rs. 121.6 million at Rakhni.

The seized items included cigarettes, betel nuts, Chinese salt, and gutka. All goods have been taken into custody, and investigations under the Customs Act 1969 are ongoing. Authorities said the operation targeted illegal trade and smuggling networks operating in the region.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) spokesperson reaffirmed the regulator’s commitment to strict enforcement. They emphasized that the seizure demonstrates a focused effort against the misuse of NCP vehicles and other smuggling activities.

Officials noted that cross-border smuggling remains a significant challenge for revenue collection. The operation reflects the Customs department’s continued efforts to curb illegal trade and protect national revenue.

Local police and paramilitary forces assisted Customs in the operation. Authorities are also working to identify and prosecute individuals involved in the smuggling networks. Further legal actions are expected as the investigation progresses.

The FBR urged the public and transport operators to comply with Customs regulations and avoid participating in illegal trade. Authorities stressed that strict penalties will be applied to those violating the law.

This seizure is among the significant enforcement actions taken in Quetta recently. Officials highlighted that such operations are part of broader initiatives to enhance border security, prevent smuggling, and safeguard the country’s economic interests.
