Naqvi Repeats Pakistan’s Extradition Request On UK Visit

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the British Home Office in London to meet UK officials regarding the extradition of individuals wanted by Pakistan. The visit aimed to strengthen legal cooperation and security ties between the two countries.

During the meeting, Pakistan presented a detailed dossier supporting its extradition request. Naqvi was accompanied by Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, Dr Mohammad Faisal, who also attended discussions on bilateral relations and security cooperation.

Earlier, British High Commissioner Jane Marriott met Naqvi to discuss Pakistan-UK relations, the repatriation of Pakistanis living illegally in the UK, and measures to enhance mutual security cooperation.

A key topic of Naqvi’s visit was the request for the immediate extradition of Shahzad Akbar and Adil Raja. Both individuals are wanted in Pakistan on multiple charges, and Naqvi stressed that their activities abroad required urgent legal action.

“Both individuals are wanted in Pakistan, so they should be immediately extradited,” Naqvi told the British officials. Pakistan provided strong evidence showing that the two men have been involved in spreading propaganda outside the country.

The meetings also focused on broader issues of mutual interest, including countering misinformation, improving legal collaboration, and strengthening bilateral ties. Naqvi highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining international cooperation in legal and security matters.

Officials said the visit was part of Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to ensure that wanted individuals are brought to justice. Naqvi’s discussions aimed to expedite extradition processes and foster stronger coordination between Pakistani and UK authorities.
