Lahore Qalandars Become the First Team to Extend Their PSL Franchise Contract

As discussions continue over the entry of new owners in PSL 11, Lahore Qalandars have become the first franchise to officially confirm their return, announcing the renewal of their agreement with the Pakistan Super League for the next ten years. This move secures their participation in the league and ends speculation about the team’s future.

According to journalist Faizan Lakhani, Qalandars’ owners have signed the updated contracts proposed by the PCB. The league had shared revised valuations with all existing franchises, except Multan Sultans, giving them the choice to accept the new terms or risk losing ownership to new entrants. By renewing their agreement promptly, Lahore Qalandars have signalled confidence in the league’s direction under the current board.

The extension comes after the team’s remarkable rise from early struggles to becoming the first franchise to win consecutive PSL titles. Under the current management, the Qalandars have also captured three overall championships, strengthening their reputation in the league. Beyond on-field success, the franchise has invested heavily in talent development, operating initiatives such as the Players Development Program (PDP) and the High Performance Centre. These projects aim to nurture future national-level cricketers, and the renewal ensures that these programs will continue for the next decade.

With PSL 11 approaching, the confirmation of Lahore Qalandars’ continued involvement offers stability and reassurance to fans, players, and stakeholders. The franchise now looks ahead to another ten years of competitive performance, talent cultivation, and fan engagement, maintaining its position among the league’s top contenders while contributing to the overall growth and structure of the Pakistan Super League.

This milestone highlights the Qalandars’ commitment to the PSL and their long-term vision for cricket development in Pakistan.
