LAHORE – A teacher in Lahore’s Millat Park area allegedly beat a 10-year-old student, Ayaan Shahroz, for forgetting his lesson.
When Ayaan returned home, he told his grandmother about the assault, prompting her to visit the police station and file a complaint. An FIR was registered on her request.
According to the FIR, the teacher repeatedly struck the child with a plastic pipe for not memorizing his lesson, leaving visible marks on his stomach and other parts of his body.
After the complaint was lodged, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran took notice and ordered the immediate arrest of the accused, who has since been detained.
Faisal Kamran said that, in line with Punjab government directives, children and women are considered a “red line,” and any violence against them will not be tolerated.
