Local cement dispatches in Pakistan increased 15.17% year-on-year in October 2025, reaching 3.926 million tons compared to 3.409 million tons in October 2024, according to the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA).
Total cement dispatches, including exports, reached 4.754 million tons, marking a 5.87% increase from 4.490 million tons last year. Strong domestic demand drove the growth, while exports continued to fall.
Export dispatches dropped sharply by 23.44%, falling from 1.081 million tons in October 2024 to 0.827 million tons in October 2025. The APCMA warned that a continued decline in exports could affect the sector’s revival and urged the government to implement export-friendly policies to improve international competitiveness.
Regionally, North-based cement mills dispatched 3.525 million tons, up 15.03% from 3.064 million tons last year. In contrast, South-based mills recorded a 13.81% drop, delivering 1.23 million tons compared to 1.425 million tons in October 2024.
Export performance also varied regionally. North-based mill exports fell by 27.79% to 146,478 tons, while South-based exports decreased by 22.43% to 680,903 tons. For the first four months of the fiscal year, total dispatches from North-based mills rose 18.15% to 12.547 million tons, and South-based mills increased 8.92% to 4.718 million tons.
An APCMA spokesperson emphasized that while domestic demand remains strong, the export slump is concerning. The spokesperson urged the government to introduce measures that enhance the competitiveness of Pakistani cement in international markets.
