Instagram Rolls Out Much-Anticipated ‘Watch History’ Feature for Reels

Instagram has launched its long-awaited “Watch History” feature, enabling users to easily revisit Reels they’ve already watched — a function TikTok users have enjoyed for years. The feature helps people find videos they forgot to save or couldn’t locate again.

Instagram chief Adam Mosseri announced the rollout in a video message, saying it was designed to make discovering previously viewed Reels simpler and more convenient.

To access it, users can go to Profile → Settings → Your Activity → Watch History, where all their previously viewed Reels are listed.

Unlike TikTok’s version, Instagram’s Watch History includes advanced management tools. Users can filter videos by date — such as within the last week, month, or a specific time range — and even delete selected videos from their record. Sorting options also allow viewing by chronological order, reverse order, or by creator.

According to Instagram, this addition has been one of the most requested features on the platform. It provides users with a more organized and user-friendly way to revisit their favorite Reels without the frustration of scrolling endlessly through their feed.
