Pakistan-India T20 World Cup Match Expected on Feb 8 in Colombo

The much-anticipated Pakistan–India clash in the upcoming T20 World Cup is expected to be held on February 8 in Colombo, according to reliable sources. The tournament, featuring 20 international teams, will take place jointly in Sri Lanka and India, marking one of the biggest cricketing events of the year. The T20 World Cup 2026 is scheduled to begin in February 2026, with preparations already underway in both host nations.

Officials familiar with the planning process revealed that the Pakistan–India encounter is being strategically scheduled at a neutral venue to ensure smooth arrangements and avoid logistical challenges. This comes after India refused to travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025, citing security concerns. In response, the International Cricket Council (ICC) decided that Pakistan would also not play its World Cup matches in India.

As a result, the Colombo match is expected to serve as a neutral-ground showdown, continuing the intense cricket rivalry between the two nations.
