Gold prices in Pakistan saw a major decline on Wednesday following reports of a US interest rate cut that affected global markets. The fall in Gold prices comes as investors react to changing monetary policies and shifting currency values worldwide.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-carat Gold dropped by a massive Rs7,538 per tola, bringing it down to Rs437,362. Meanwhile, the rate for 10 grams of 24-carat Gold declined by Rs6,463, settling at Rs374,967. Similarly, 10 grams of 22-carat Gold were sold at Rs343,732, marking a decrease of Rs5,924 from the previous day.
On the international market, Gold prices also continued their downward trend. The yellow metal fell by $85 per ounce, reaching $4,150. Experts link this global decline to a stronger US dollar, lower investor demand, and cautious sentiment in the commodities market.
Silver followed the same trend in Pakistan’s local market. The price of 24-karat silver fell by Rs151 per tola, bringing it to Rs5,110, while 10 grams of silver dropped by Rs129 to Rs4,381.
Analysts believe that currency fluctuations and uncertainty in international demand continue to shape the movement of precious metal prices in Pakistan. The ongoing changes in the interbank exchange rate also play a significant role in determining daily price adjustments.
Financial experts predict that local investors will remain cautious as they monitor global market signals and future interest rate decisions by the US Federal Reserve. Any further adjustments could influence both Gold and silver prices in the coming weeks.
