Dubai is preparing to host the world’s biggest technology and artificial intelligence (AI) event, Gitex TechCation 2026, from December 7 to 11, 2026. The grand event will be held at Expo City Dubai and is expected to attract global tech leaders, investors, and innovators from across the world.
Announced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the event aims to showcase the city’s growing influence as a global technology hub. The initiative follows the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Gitex TechCation will offer an immersive experience that blends technology with art, tourism, and entertainment. The entire city will transform into a digital innovation hub, providing visitors with a glimpse of the future. According to organizers, the event will not just take place inside exhibition halls but will extend across key venues in Dubai.
The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) have partnered to promote and manage the event. Their collaboration will support Dubai’s goal to become the world’s top city to visit, live, and work. The initiative will also align with Dubai’s cultural and tourism agenda by integrating technology-based activities and attractions.
Dubai’s recognition as a top global travel destination adds to the event’s prestige. The city ranked first in Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards for three consecutive years, highlighting its appeal to international visitors. It has also gained recognition for its culinary scene, with Michelin-starred restaurants and top-ranked dining experiences.
