Pakistan’s left-arm spinner Noman Ali created history in Lahore by breaking a long-standing record once held by legendary spinner Iqbal Qasim. Noman’s remarkable performance against South Africa in the first Test earned him his ninth five-wicket haul, making him the Pakistani left-arm spinner with the most five-fors in Test cricket.

The 38-year-old spinner delivered an outstanding spell, finishing with 6 wickets for 112 runs as South Africa were dismissed for 269 in their first innings. His accuracy, control, and ability to extract turn from the pitch troubled the South African batters throughout the innings. This brilliant effort helped Pakistan secure a 109-run lead over the visitors.

With this performance, Noman Ali surpassed Iqbal Qasim’s record of eight five-wicket hauls, a milestone that had stood for decades. The record places Noman among Pakistan’s finest spinners, alongside names like Abdul Qadir, Saeed Ajmal, and Danish Kaneria.

Speaking after his record-breaking feat, Noman expressed pride in his achievement and credited his hard work and domestic experience for his success. He also praised the team management for backing him through tough phases in his career.

Cricket fans across Pakistan hailed Noman Ali’s performance as a memorable moment in the country’s cricket history. His consistency, especially on home soil, has made him a key weapon in Pakistan’s bowling attack.

With this record now under his belt, Noman Ali continues to strengthen his place in the team and is expected to play a vital role in Pakistan’s upcoming Test matches.
