No Insurgency In Balochistan, Only Alleged Separatist Movements CM

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti has clarified that there is no insurgency in the province, only so-called separatist movements driven by anti-national elements and foreign interference. Speaking at the 17th National Workshop, Bugti emphasized that governance, security, and development in Balochistan are steadily improving under his administration.

Bugti criticized claims of an insurgency, calling them misleading and aimed at dividing Pakistan. “The enemies want to divide Pakistan into pieces like a cake,” he said. He added that the label “angry Baloch” was used to justify acts of terrorism, stressing that individuals committing violence are terrorists, not genuinely angry citizens.

Foreign Interference in Balochistan

The Chief Minister highlighted foreign involvement, accusing India’s intelligence agency RAW of supporting separatist elements. Bugti said propaganda on social media is being used to manipulate youth and create divisions between the public and the state. He also referenced a refugee camp established in 2002, which he claimed encouraged terrorism in Balochistan.

Youth Engagement and State Strengthening

Bugti stated that the government is reaching out to universities and youth forums to address concerns and reduce the influence of separatist propaganda. “The war against terrorism is a national effort, not just for the army,” he added, stressing that counterterrorism is a shared responsibility.

Governance, Security, and Development

The Chief Minister revealed that the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) is being strengthened with Rs100 million for enhanced capacity. Security forces continue operations in areas where enemies are difficult to identify.

Bugti also noted progress in governance and public services. Over 3,200 inactive schools and 164 medical centers have been reactivated. Assistant Commissioners were posted in 24 sub-districts after 12 years, restoring the state’s writ in Balochistan.
