Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met the Emir of Qatar on the sidelines of the Gaza Peace Summit, reaffirming Pakistan’s long-standing friendship and close cooperation with Qatar. The meeting highlighted both nations’ shared commitment to regional peace, stability, and humanitarian support for the people of Gaza.
During the meeting, Shehbaz praised the Emir’s leadership and Qatar’s constructive role in facilitating dialogue and humanitarian relief in Gaza. He said Qatar’s continued diplomatic engagement has been vital in pushing for a peaceful resolution to the conflict and ensuring aid reaches civilians affected by the ongoing crisis.
The two leaders also discussed broader regional developments and the outcomes of the Gaza Peace Summit. Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm stance on the Palestinian cause, expressing full support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
He assured that Pakistan would continue its humanitarian efforts for Gaza and play its part in relief and reconstruction initiatives. The prime minister also emphasized the need for the international community to act swiftly to end the suffering of innocent civilians and restore peace in the region.
The Emir of Qatar expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s consistent support on international platforms and praised its proactive diplomacy in defending the rights of oppressed communities. He reiterated Qatar’s commitment to deepening ties with Pakistan, especially in trade, energy, and investment sectors.
Both leaders agreed to maintain close coordination on regional and global matters of mutual interest. They also resolved to strengthen bilateral cooperation through new economic and development partnerships that would benefit both nations.
