Boxing Legend Mike Tyson to Visit Pakistan for World Title Fight

Pakistan is gearing up for a historic sporting night as legendary boxer Mike Tyson is expected to attend the WBA bantamweight world title clash between Mohammad Waseem and Thailand’s Jakrawut Majungoen on November 29 in Lahore.

Talks are ongoing to finalize Tyson’s appearance, with sponsors likely to make the visit possible. The former heavyweight champion, who once held the WBA, WBC, and IBF belts, would bring global spotlight to Pakistan’s boxing scene. Known as “Iron Mike,” Tyson is also preparing for a return to the ring next year.

Adding to the star presence, former four-division world champion Roy Jones Jr. is also expected to attend. With 66 wins from 76 fights, Jones is regarded as one of the greatest boxers in history.

The upcoming bout marks Waseem’s first defense of his WBA bantamweight gold, which he won earlier this year in Quetta by defeating Venezuela’s Ernesto Ireneo. His opponent, 30-year-old Majungoen, is an experienced fighter with 59 matches and 29 knockouts to his credit. Waseem holds a record of 16 fights, 14 wins (10 by knockout), and just two losses.

With Tyson and Jones ringside, the event is set to be the biggest boxing spectacle ever hosted in Pakistan.
