The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has launched its nationwide Schools Talent Hunt Program 2024–25 to identify and nurture the country’s next cricketing stars.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the initiative at Crescent Model Higher Secondary School, his former school, where he unveiled the tournament trophy and distributed official kit bags to participating teams.
Calling it a proud moment, Naqvi said the program’s aim is to discover raw talent across Pakistan and transform them into future cricket heroes.
The hunt is being held simultaneously across all provinces, with 391 schools — 175 government and 218 private — taking part. Students from Crescent Model and Crescent Grammar School were presented to the PCB Chairman at the ceremony.
Naqvi emphasized that the initiative expands the talent search beyond the traditional system, combining education with opportunities for professional cricket.
Top performers will be monitored and given a pathway into U15, U17, and U19 regional teams and academies, with the PCB also rewarding high-performing school teams to strengthen grassroots cricket.
“We are confident this program will introduce new talent who will one day don the green jersey and make Pakistan proud,” Naqvi added.
