PTCL announced that users in Pakistan are facing slow performance on Meta-owned apps, particularly WhatsApp, with call disruptions reported mainly during peak hours. The company confirmed it is working with Meta to resolve the issue and restore full service quickly.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp has rolled out a redesigned Call Menu in its latest Android beta update (version 2.25.5.21), currently available to limited testers. The update replaces separate voice and video call buttons with a single call button in both individual and group chats. In private chats, tapping the button opens a menu to choose between voice or video calls.
In addition, Meta has launched an AI-powered feature in WhatsApp to summarize unread messages. Initially available in the US, the tool provides concise overviews of busy group chats, saving users from scrolling through long threads, memes, and bulk messages
