Shahid Afridi Points to Hypocrisy Among Indian Players

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has stirred debate once again with a scathing remark directed at former Indian cricketers currently working as commentators in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025.

Speaking on a local TV channel, Afridi accused the Indian players of showing “two-faced” behavior. “Some Indian players are still busy proving they are Indians. Since birth, they’ve tried to show it, and now they are doing commentary in the Asia Cup,” he said.

His comments come in the backdrop of India’s boycott of matches against Pakistan in the World Championship of Legends (WCL), followed by their return to play in the Asia Cup. Though Afridi didn’t mention anyone by name, his remarks appeared to be aimed at Robin Uthappa, who played for India Champions in the WCL and is now part of the Asia Cup commentary team.

Afridi has often voiced strong opinions on Indo-Pak cricket issues, including bilateral series, ICC events, and the role of ex-players in shaping narratives from the commentary box.

With Pakistan and India set to face each other in Dubai on September 14, Afridi’s statement has added further spice to an already charged atmosphere, ensuring the rivalry remains intense
