The Interior Ministry has approved the purchase of 20 double-cabin vehicles to boost the efficiency and mobility of the Islamabad police and city administration, officials confirmed on Thursday.
The vehicles will be split evenly, with 10 allocated to the police and 10 to the administration. Authorities say the move will strengthen field operations, enhance administrative performance, and improve overall law enforcement in the capital.
Under the plan, all eight assistant commissioners and the additional deputy commissioner general will receive vehicles. On the police side, the new vehicles will go to superintendents of police (SPs) in the Operations Division, while senior officials including the SSP Operations, SSP Investigation, SSP Security, and Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) will also be provided with them.
Additionally, sources revealed that from next month, Islamabad Police’s SP Dolphin will be equipped with a double-cabin vehicle to further improve patrolling across the city.
