The Gates Foundation has pledged $1 million in aid for communities hit by recent floods in Pakistan.

Bill Gates confirmed that the assistance will be provided through the World Health Organization (WHO), which will use the funds to deliver medical services to around 465,000 flood-affected people across 33 districts in all four provinces.

WHO’s representative in Pakistan, Doping Lo, expressed gratitude to the Gates Foundation for the timely support, affirming WHO’s commitment to safeguarding lives. He highlighted that climate change is worsening monsoon rains and increasing the frequency of natural disasters.
